Training and Experience

I am a qualified professional counsellor psychotherapist, and a clinical member of the Counsellors and Psychotherapists’ Association of NSW (CAPA), a registered member of the Psychotherapists and Counsellors Federation of Australia (PACFA) and a registered member of the International Association For Relational Psychoanalysis & Psychotherapy (IARPP) USA- Sydney Chapter. I believe in and subscribe to these organisations professional codes of ethics.  My work is regularly supervised as demanded by the professional associations. I am a certified counsellor with the National Carers Counselling Program NSW.

With a Master of Counselling from the University of Western Sydney and a Graduate Diploma in Counselling from the Australian College of Applied Psychology, I am clinically trained in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. I have also trained with Relationships Australia in Relationship Counselling, with the Edith Cowan University in Lifespan Development, and in Brief Solution Focused Therapy and Group Leadership with community welfare training programs and Mental Health Practitioner with the University of Canberra. I am committed to ongoing training and professional development.
 
My working experiences started in 1993 and include Crisis Counselling Intervention, Group Facilitation and Psychodynamic Counselling /Therapy with community organisations. In 1999 I began my private practice in Sydney CBD offering personal counselling services and psychotherapy to male and female individuals and relationship counselling with heterosexual and gay couples. In 2003, with a group of volunteer counsellors and psychotherapists, I have co-founded and established the Mandala Community Counselling Service a non-religious, non-political organisation. My current work with to the Mandala operations is as counsellor psychotherapist and clinical supervisor. By charity donations and the work of volunteers Mandala Community Counselling Services provide free counselling in various Sydney locations for people with no financial means to access private services.
